Construction & engineering
AI for construction and engineering.
Identify the requirements.
Tender documents, technical specifications and meeting minutes contain details that shape the work. Initial IA helps teams locate requirements, prepare a reading grid and connect each item to the source that needs checking.
For estimators, project managers, engineering teams and people preparing tender responses.
Tender documents and project records.
Prepare a traceable review.
Start from the documents for one project or work package. The assistant prepares a reading grid with references and flags missing attachments, conflicting instructions and requirements that need confirmation before costing or committing.
01Prepare a tender reading grid
Submission requirements and work package specifications are spread across several tender documents.
Extract requirements and requested deliverables from the supplied documents. Link each item to its source and work package, and flag references to missing attachments.
The project team confirms completeness, applicability and the implications for the response.
02Find the instruction to confirm
An instruction changed between two meeting records and the team needs to identify what to confirm.
Retrieve passages across specifications and meeting records, keeping their dates and versions visible. Present conflicting wording for review.
The responsible person confirms which instruction applies before work proceeds.
03Draft meeting records and action lists
Meeting notes mix decisions, actions and issues that still have no owner.
Organise supplied notes into decisions, proposed actions and unresolved points. Keep missing owners or deadlines visible rather than filling them in.
Meeting participants confirm wording, responsibilities and commitments before circulation.
A document review that makes gaps visible.
Illustrative example: the team checks which response documents and attachments are available for work package 03.

What should be prepared for the work package 03 review?
- Submission items found
- The technical submission and completed pricing schedule are listed among the required response documents.[1]
Look for the appendix in the complete pack and confirm the work package requirements before costing. This partial review is not an exhaustive list.

Review before costing or submission
A partial reading is not an exhaustive compliance check. Technical choices, quantities, pricing and commitments remain subject to professional validation.
Revisit a tender already analysed.
Compare the proposed reading grid with an analysis your team has already completed. Include attachments, similar work packages and revised documents to expose omissions and incorrect associations.

What to prepare
- 01
A complete authorised tender pack and its version history.
- 02
The team’s existing analysis as a comparison.
- 03
Rules for associating each requirement with the right work package.
A tool to try.
Evidence to decide.
A reading grid for a previously analysed tender pack, with requirements and document references. Comparison with the project manager’s analysis reveals omissions, work package errors and the remaining review work.
Compare the prepared grid with the project manager’s analysis: requirements found, omissions, correct work package associations and review time.

Before
you start.
01Can AI read an entire tender pack?+
A defined collection can be processed, but coverage must be tested. Scans, drawings, tables and absent attachments can create gaps; a summary is not proof that every requirement was captured.
02Can it compare successive versions?+
It can prepare a comparison when versions are clearly identified. The team still checks what changed and which version applies to the project.
03Can it also monitor new tenders?+
Monitoring selected public sources is a separate scope. Source access, update frequency and relevance criteria need to be agreed before connecting alerts to the document workflow.
Which tender pack
would make a useful test?
Describe a completed analysis, the documents involved and the points your team checks before responding. We can use that comparison to define a first pilot.
